An intensive two-day National Conference & Expo features speakers and roundtable discussion on global, economic, manufacturing and market trends, innovation, and other issues of strategic significance.  Industry suppliers are present to display their newest technology.  Receptions provide opportunities for networking, socializing and idea exchanges.  The two-day event is maximum value in minimum time.

Viewed as one of the most valued member services, HMA Regional Meetings, provide members an opportunity to conduct their own field research and get a host of money-making, money-saving ideas during tours of hardwood sawmills, concentration yards and secondary manufacturing facilities.  These meetings conducted twice a year, are compact educational events designed to deliver maximum value, while minimizing time away from the office.

The biennial Wage and Benefit Survey allows members to compare their annual compensation to regional and national averages and to companies of similar size for every job title in the mill, yard, forestry, sales and administrative departments.  The survey puts members' hourly wage rates, salaries and fringes into perspective.

In addition to the above mentioned services, the HMA supports research projects that position American hardwoods as cost-effective, sustainable, healthy and aesthetic choices for all-natural building materials.  HMA provides periodic reports on different issues related to sawmill management and operations and health and safety issues.
